Stomach

The stomach is part of the intestinal system and its job is to use stomach acids to dissolve and soften foods so that the rest of the intestinal system can take out the nutrients and water. The picture on the left is the relative location of the stomach, and the picture on the right is a labeled diagram of the stomach and things next to it. Food travels to the stomach through the esophagus and out of the stomach into the small intestine.
