Bacterial Cell walls have two main differences. One type of bacterial cell wall is Gram Negative, where there is an outer membrane and peptidoglycan below the membrane. Gram Positive has Peptidoglycan at the edge and both have cytoplasmic membrane below the Peptidoglycan.
When a Gram Stain is used on a bacteria, when seen through an optical microscope, the Gram Postive bacteria will be a shade of blue/purple and the Gram Negative will be Red/Pink.
